10/15/20- Catherine Somers, Executive Director of the LG Chamber of Commerce just released this statement:
" I would be remiss not to share my one concern. Three of the Town Council candidates have served on the Town’s Planning Commission and have a pre-established working relationship. I worry that if all are elected, they could create a voting block that could be potentially dangerous and hinder economic progress and evolution. We have made too many strides in the last few years to give that up now".
This is spot on an echoes what many of you have told me. We don't need to stack the town council with 4/5 members coming from the planning commission. We need diversity of candidates, experience and background and most importantly, candidates that were not party to some of the towns problems who are now trying to sell you solutions. You have the ability to create the council that you think will best represent YOUR interests.
What are your thoughts on the parklets downtown?
What are you thoughts on beach traffic?
